Recently awarded The Top 100 Women Leaders of Spain, Andrea González is a pianist, music industry manager and pedagogue. She is founder and president of the non-profit organization Xuventudes Musicais Eixo Atlántico, and founder and director of the International Keyboard Festival and Masterclasses Eurocity Tui-Valença, IKFEM. She is also artistic director of the festival Camiños Sonoros – Xacobeo 21, promoted by the Galician government.
As a pianist, Andrea González has been awarded in such national and international competitions as the International Piano Competition of Fundão (Portugal), Piano Competition Josep Mestre Serrano (Spain), Fondazione Wagneriana di Milano (Italy), Piano Competition Real Club Náutico de Vigo (Spain) and National Competition Veguellina Órbigo (Spain). She studied with Vincenzo Balzani, Leonel Morales, Peter Bithell, Paul Badura-Skoda, Boris Berman, Luiz de Moura Castro and Diane Andersen, among others. Andrea González received the degree Título Superior de Música at the Conservatory of Music Salvador Seguí in Castellón (Spain) with highest honors and completed a Master in Piano Performance at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. The Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain and the Segundo Gil Dávila Foundation supported their academic studies in Spain and abroad.
Andrea González has performed in Australia, Cuba, England, Italy, Portugal and Spain, and appeared with the Lyric Symphony Orchestra at the National Theatre in Havana and with the Viana do Castelo Symphony Orchestra in Spain. She performed at Milton Court Concert Hall in London, for the Amici del Loggione at Teatro alla Scala in Milan and Sala Rodrigo of the Palau de la Música in Valencia, among others.
Andrea González offered piano master classes at the Australian National University (Australia), National Conservatory of Havana (Cuba), Academia de Música Fortaleza of Valença (Portugal), IKFEM (Spain) and at the International Piano Festival Villa Xábia (Spain). She was jury for the Junior Piano Competition in Orbetello (Italy) and for the International Piano Competition Villa de Xábia. She is currently Professor of Piano at the Karl Nielsen Conservatory in Ourense (Spain).
With the support from the program for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), Andrea González was invited by the Monastery of New Norcia in Australia and by the Australian National University to perform and lecture about the music of Fray Rosendo Salvado. During this tour, Andrea González collaborated with rock star Rosendo Mercado in the documentary From Rosendo to Rosendo, awarded in the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards 2016. She will record Salvado´s piano works for Warner Records in 2020.
Andrea González is board member for the committees of Juventudes Musicales of Spain (JME) and ASOBECA (Fundación Barrié). She received a Diploma in Music Activity Entrepreneurship from Accademia Teatro Alla Scala of Milan (Italy). She obtained a grant from the Spanish Foundation Pedro Barrié de la Maza to pursue a Master in Music Business Management at the University of Westminster in London. Andrea González codirected the Young Audiences Music (YAM) of Jeunesses Musciales International at Cidade da Cultura in Santiago de Compostela, and also codirected the 86th Concurso Permanente de Juventudes Musicales of Spain. She is former Director of Operations for the Orquestra Vigo 430 and former general manager of the ensemble Taller Atlántico Contemporáneo. She collaborates monthly for the specialized music magazine Ritmo and appears on national TV and radio media in Spain and Portugal.
