Janne Gonçalves is one of the most important piano pedagogues of Brazil. Due to her intense pedagogical work, her students have won many awards in national and international piano competitions in countries such as the USA, Portugal, Indonesia, Italy, Denmark, Spain, France, the Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and Colombia.
BIOGRAPHY
Professor Gonçalves is doing important pedagogical research with an emphasis on intermediate and advanced piano students. She has given courses and lectures to pianists and piano teachers from Brazil and abroad. Janne Gonçalves pursued a master’s degree in Piano Performance at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
Currently she is the Head of Piano Studies at the Gabriel Camargo Music School.
Additionally, she has performed in concerts and numerous recitals. She has recorded a CD entitled “Canto e piano Erudito com alma Espírito Santo”, a work selected by the culture secretariat of the state of Espírito Santo (Secult) in first place. She has also recorded the Suíte nº1 and Suíte nº 3 Mestres Brasileiros by Marcelo Rauta.
Besides that, she performed in several recitals as a soloist and chamber musician. Professor Gonçalves premiered the Concerto No. 1 by Marcelo Rauta under the baton of Maestro Helder Trefzer and, also was a soloist in Ronaldo Miranda’s Concertino for piano and orchestra.
Professor Gonçalves was recently named the President of the World Piano Teachers Association in Brazil.
