BIOGRAPHY

Since his debut at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Harrison Herman’s career has taken him to give solo recitals and as a soloist in renowned theaters and auditoriums in Spain and abroad. Among the halls where he has performed are the Bunka Kaikan Auditorium in Tokyo, the Shenzhen Concert Hall in China, the Wiener Saal and Solitär Concert Hall in Salzburg, the Auditorio Nacional de España, the Palau de Valencia, the Reduta Building of the Slovak Philharmonic, the Salle Debussy in Lyon, the Metropolitan Municipal Concert Hall in Adana (Turkey), St. Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square (London) and the De Lijsterbes Hall in Brussels, among many others.

Harrison has also collaborated with orchestras such as the Slovak National Philharmonic Orchestra in Bratislava, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Castilla y León, the Symphony Orchestra of Galicia and the Cukurova State Symphony Orchestra of Turkey, among others.

In November 2023, he was recognized with the ‘Outstanding Semifinalist Performance Award’ and the ‘Best Cooperation Award’ at the China Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition (WFIMC). Since 2015, he has been awarded in more than 40 international piano competitions, obtaining first prizes in competitions such as ‘Cidade de Ferrol’, “La Rioja Piano”, “Compositores de España” (WFIMC), “Shigeru Kawai Madrid” and “Ciudad de Leganés”, among others. Also Second Prizes in ‘The Fourth Shigeru Kawai Competition’ in Tokyo (Japan), the 11th Johann Nepomuk Hummel International Piano Competition (WFIMC) (together with the Eugen Indjic Special Prize), the Frechilla Zuloaga Piano Prize, the RPM of Sanremo, or the Fourth Prize in the ‘Grand Prix Internationale de Piano de Lyon’ (France), etc.

He has worked with prominent conductors such as Stefan Vladar, Enrique García Asensio, Vahan Mardirossian, Mariusz Smolij, Guillaume Berney or Marc Moncusí, and has participated in festivals and cycles such as the International Chamber Music Festival of Castellón (FIMCC), the Onde Musicali festival in Bergamo, the Mendigorría Festival, the Pilar Classical Music Cycle in Zaragoza and the Più Mosso Foundation in Madrid, collaborating with musical ensembles such as the ‘Mobius Quartet’ or the ‘Mucha Quartet’ from Slovakia.

In 2020, Harrison released his first solo LP, sponsored by Kawai Spain and DRAX Audio, with a repertoire that included works by Soler, Schumann and Rachmaninoff. In 2022, he recorded the complete piano works and part of the chamber repertoire of contemporary composer Tito Avendaño Salas in the album “Esencias”, recorded at the Auditorio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial and released on both physical and digital platforms.

Born in Sydney (Australia) in 1995, Harrison moved to Spain at an early age, where he began his musical training at the “Centro Integrado de Música Padre Antonio Soler” (CIMPA) at the age of 9. At the age of 10, he was awarded First Prize in the “Hazen Intercentros” piano competition in Madrid, and a year later he made his debut at the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid. Subsequently, he received the Second Prize at the “Antón García Abril” piano competition. After his graduation in 2013, he entered the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castellón (CSMC), where he studied under the tutelage of maestro Leonel Morales, obtaining the Superior Degree in Piano Performance and completing a Master’s Degree in Musical Research.
Nowadays, he is studying the Permanent Program of High Specialization with Prof. Leonel Morales at the Forum Musikae school in Madrid.
